It's surprisingly still difficult to accept and pay people online. Venmo makes this much easier but it's designed for friends. Stripe-integrated Payzo and Plasso are decent but require more upfront setup and built primarily for freelancers or SMB's.
P.S. click here 😉

@rrhoover seems to work without the dollar sign, so this might be an even easier url to give: http://cash.me/rrhoover

@rrhoover I agree. I love Venmo and am still shocked by its massive consumer adoption by my "non-tech" friends. But I still find it difficult to find my friends for a first time payment to them on the platform, and usually end up asking them (via showing them my phone to their face), "is this you??" before pulling the trigger.
@marty
Is this unavailable in the UK? :(
Mojca Mars
@marty Nope, I think not. Us Europeans will have to wait. :/
Doney den Ouden
@marty @mojcamars Super unfortunate. I had hoped we would at least get the possibility of securing our cashtags.

This is awesome for SMBs. I wonder if an integrated invoicing system is next? Obligatory https://cash.me/$McLean

@michael_mclean Huge for non-profits, too. 1.5% fee addresses a major pain and the UI is so simple.

Can't wait for it to be released in Europe. Would be cool to claim a hashtag through the web app as well though

I don't understand why big institutional banks, which earn a lot of money, do not invest more in the development of such services. That's a really cool product anyway. Hope to see it in France soon.
Derek Shanahan
@nicomage bc those banks really aren't in the business of retail / person-to-person payments. :)

Give love (& $cash) to us Europeans... PLEASE. :(

I mocked up a quick image and tweet showing just how great this could be with Twitter Cards. https://twitter.com/gregbarbosa/...
Ryan Hoover
Nice, @gregbarbosa: How long before Twitter adds its own $cashtags/Snapcash/Venmo/ChangeTip functionality?
Greg Barbosa
@rrhoover Looks like a preliminary version of this is now available. https://blog.twitter.com/2015/po...

This product is pretty much exactly the same as what ribbon.co have been doing for close to 18 months now. Except I think their debit card option is free. See: http://ribbon.co/jack
Nick O'Neill
@_jacksmith Are they still in business? Product still looks like it's behind a beta/invite wall and very few tweets since spring 2014.
Andy Rosenberg
@_jacksmith yeah, but building a product is only half of the equation. Being able to launch it in the market and gain consistent traction is the difficult part when it comes to payments. So much friction.
Jack Smith
@andythegiant agreed - when building a business, that's the mantra. doesn't mean that I can't call out a product clone.
Zac Coffman-Magaha
@_jacksmith @nickoneill I wondered if they were in business as well. Haven't tweeted in almost a year and they were rather active.

Ladies and gents we have a game changer... Genius
Todd Saunders
I wonder if Square is going to utilize this and their partnership with Snapchat.
Kevin Bastien
@toddsaunders The Square Cash Twitter account is following Snapchat and Kanye West so possibly Snapcash and Kanye collaboration :)

Crap.. US only, ahhhh. Which I could register my username, hate it when this happens.
Waveney Hudlin
Wow--made something almost exactly like this as a side project a few months ago. www.justpayme.co Maybe we should have given it more of a chance :0

This is a genius growth mechanism - the land rush for reserving your username means a lot of people will install (or re-install) Square Cash.

Sweet. That UX is sexy. I was torn between $2chainz and $startup. Ended up with the latter. :) cash.me/$startup

Love this, and beautiful site. I wonder how I'll use this!

Sometimes there are products that you just want to go and tell everyone about... this is one of them. Great for small businesses, send an invoice payable to http://cash.me/$danfein and easily accept payments.
David McGraw
Loving this experience. Talk about a painless way to make payment easy for clients. Or setup a simple tip-jar... slick. I've had clients delay payments for so long because they had to deal with transfer nightmares with their bank... This usually leads to reverting back to sending checks. Wife runs an interior design business and had a client move into town who couldn't find their checks. They had to run to several ATMs, due to limits, to withdrawal the required payment...

This was great to use today, just sold a bike. Gave the buyer my url before hand, and got paid on the spot. Great for people who don't have cash.

@510_boatswain This is an awesome story. Thank you for sharing.

While everybody is getting into fast-online-payments, they truly nailed this one. The idea of sending money so simple is catchy. I can't wait to use this in Europe.
