Are you planning to support banks in Canada?
Gavin King
@gabrieltomescu Yes! Many of the top Canadian banks are already supported: https://blog.plaid.com/plaid-in-...

@ghking13 Docs say "To access Canadian institutions, existing customers must include 'CA' within the countryCodes array during Link initialization." When I search for my bank, RBC for example, I only see US institutions.
Gavin King
@gabrieltomescu Ah I was not aware. Thanks for debugging :) I’ll be sure to add that to the next release in the next few days.
Gavin King
@gabrieltomescu Support for Canadian banks has been added to the new update (1.4.0). Please give it a try and let me know how it goes!

is this coming to Android soon?
Gavin King
@kwasiagyemang9 No plans yet, but if there's enough interest that could definitely change!

It's simple and well designed. Great work!
Gavin King
@hbb Thanks Harrison, I'm glad you like it!

@ghking13 Before I download, is it working possible to integrate bank accounts in Europe / Germany?
Gavin King
@luikohl Hi Lui, good question! The app uses a third-party service called Plaid to interact with the banks, so we support what they support. Here's a list of supported countries: https://plaid.com/docs/faq/#does... It looks like they're actively working to expand that support to Europe: https://plaid.com/eu/ Thanks for asking!
Gavin King
@luikohl Adding transactions manually for regions in which linking cards is not yet available is now supported. Please give it a try and let me know what you think!

Hello friends! I’m beyond excited to launch a brand new app today, Budget Burndown. The idea is simple. Set a monthly budget, which is plotted on the chart as an expected spending rate. Your actual spending plots against it as the month goes on. If you keep the lines matched up, you stay on budget! As I'm sure many of you know, this type of graph is called a burndown chart (hence the app name), which is commonly used in Agile software development. I built this app for myself long before ever considering launching it publicly. I was frustrated at how complicated and spammy other budgeting apps were, and all I cared about was tracking my transactions across two credit cards. Recurring payments like rent and student loans were always the same, but I had no visibility into how much I was spending day-to-day. Using them all the time at work, I realized that a burndown was the perfect solution to this problem. Budget Burndown lets you track your overall spending and see all of your transactions across multiple cards in a single list. There are no ads, credit scores, annoying emails, or manual entry. It's completely automatic. There’s no sign up. There's dark mode. There's even a home screen widget! I hope you love it as much as I do. I can't wait to hear your feedback! ❤️

upvoted! too bad my iphone is too old (4s)
Gavin King
@romain_carpentier Thanks for the upvote anyway! 😂 Right now the app is iOS 12+. Give it a try when you upgrade!

This is so much simpler and easier to understand than Mint. I've been wanting to jump ship for the longest time but nothing really did what I wanted. Thanks!
Gavin King
@kyle_venn2 Exactly! The point of this app is to distill everything you need to know about your spending into a simple, standard format that you can glance at for literally 2 seconds and know exactly where you stand. Other apps try to do so many things, to the point where even a power user would only use a subset of them. I think many people who try them get immediately overwhelmed and fall off soon after, now tuned off from tracking their spending at all. It doesn’t have to be that complicated!

Really intuitive way to see where I stand against my budget, definitely worth trying out
Gavin King
@david_pimentel Thank you David! I'm glad you're finding it as useful as I do.
Amber Nordahl
Well done, this is exactly what I’ve been looking for!
Gavin King
@amber_nordahl Thank you!
Anna Danilec
It's great!
Gavin King
@anna_danilec Thanks Anna! Please let me know if you have any feedback!

Super-excited, but there is no app in Russian AppStore, guess due to no bank support, still looking fantastic
Gavin King
@divance The app should now be available in Russia. Linking cards is not yet supported, but you can now add transactions manually. Let me know what you think!

So one problem I see is you seem to track per month when what really matters is for the billing period, which your app does not seem to consider. Is there a way to at least manually enter the end/beginning date of the billing period so you can track the burn down that way?
Gavin King
@leanphilosophic There is not! Since you can link multiple cards, that might get complicated. I chose to standardize everything around the month, which to me seems more natural and topical to everyday life. A rate is rate not matter which time unit you assign the denominator, so technically both are equally effective in terms of tracking your spending. I appreciate the idea!
