Open source webapp, to help you save and nerves time when managing your dev bookmarks and code snippets (aka codelets) - created especially for Developers & Co.
Hi PH,
Adrian here, software engineer && father of two boys. I would rather spend more time programming and playing table tennis than looking for stuff. Besides, Google obscurely invading my privacy has really gotten into me, and I try to minimise its use as much as possible.
To address these issues, I have created Bookmarks.dev to help me and you better manage our dev/work-related bookmarks and code snippets (aka codelets).
How can we achieve that?
1. Easy saving of bookmarks and codelets with
- bookmarklets (browser neutral, also helps when your company blocks chrome extensions as is the case for me right now)
- chrome extension for bookmarks (for codelets coming soon)
- automatic completion of tags for youtube and stackoverflow links
- IntelliJ plugin
2. Quick retrieval with
- tags
- full-text search
- read later
- history
- pinned
- keyboard shortcuts
Short demos of these features are present at https://www.bookmarks.dev/howto
I am a big supporter of open source software and this could not have been different. There are a bunch of features waiting impatiently to be implemented, like:
- Visual Studio Extension to save codelets, similar to the IntelliJ Plugin
- Add comments to public bookmark posts and user notifications
- Autocomplete tags in search box
The complete list of issues is available at https://github.com/BookmarksDev/...
I am looking forward to your feedback. For a pull request I could even do a dance, which I am pretty bad at...
I am happy to answer questions!
