Thanks for making this! Do I understand it correctly that this is only about human cases of H5 avian influenza, and not bird infections? Also, does this take into account all/any H5 subtypes (like H5N1, H5N2, etc.) reported in humans by the CDC? So the 10,000-case threshold would refer to the total number of human H5 infections (confirmed or probable) that the CDC reports in the U.S. before January 1, 2026.
