@abcdfw Hey there, thank you for the support! It's something like that! For a bit of technical detail - we use OpenAI (gpt-3.5-turbo) to create embeddings for our public deals and we put those embeddings in a vector database (Weaviate). We semantically search that database with the user's query and grab the top X matching deals. We then provide those deals in a prompt to OpenAI along with the user query and tell it to generate a response and....boom! Hopefully not too much robot talk but a peek at what's going on behind the curtains. Thank you again for your support!

Also, can you explain how you determine the top X matching deals from the vector database, and how you provide the generated response to the user?

@abcdfw For sure! - Ironically enough, we use OpenAI's embedding endpoint to create the embeddings for the deals from all the text content we have for that deal. - We rely on Weaviate's semantic search functionality to determine the top X matching deals given the user's query (so, more detailed query == better results!) - And we simply get the response from OpenAI on our server and send it back to the client! We are always iterating to keep up with the latest releases in the AI world and even changed our model / functionality a ton while changes were released in development. We use gpt-3.5-turbo because of pricing but hope to use a better model with higher token space (allowing us to provide the LLM with more deals & context!) in the future when those prices are more feasible. All in all, AskSumo should only be getting better with each passing day 🚀

I thought it was very cool. My favorite part was that it it actually returned results that would be helpful in building apps specific to my needs such as building an app to help my Muslim community.
