Hi all, we just launched After Interview and would love to get your feedback!
Abadesi
@ohsik It would be great if you could partner with employers to ensure they take the time to share the feedback and not just ignore the link. Some employers are really bad at finding the time to share valuable feedback with candidates.
Manny O
@ohsik this is such a neat idea! Are there any plans for a web app in the near future? Also, like @abadesi has suggested, having an initial partnership with the employers makes it more worthwhile. As opposed to getting all your links ignored as a job seeker

@abadesi @mannyojigbo We've thought a lot about using incentives to encourage employers to give feedback. For instance, we could share which companies are most and least likely to give feedback. We've also thought about letting the candidate give feedback to the interviewer which can only been seen by the interviewer after they've given feedback. Another thing we could possibly do is introduce the company to a new candidate as a reward for giving feedback. Would love to hear other ideas we may be missing on how to incentivize / partner with companies to encourage them to give feedback 🙂

Thank you @mannyojigbo and I forgot to mention, nothing in progress for a web app, but definitely something we want to build out as we gain more traction.

@abadesi Thank you for the great suggestion 👍

One of the main reasons employers don't give feedback to candidates is fear of lawsuits. Does the app address that with any kind of release that the candidate would sign?
Hoku Ho
@stephmcdonald We've mostly thought about different ways to incentivize companies to give feedback (see https://www.producthunt.com/post...). Introducing some kind of a release for the candidate to sign is a very intriguing idea though, that is not part of the app currently. We'll have to explore that more. Thanks for the insight 🙂

Hey, think something like this is badly needed, congrats for launching :) Have you thought about / does the product have baked in something so candidates can also give feedback on the interview / interviewer. For all my sins, my background is in recruiting and can say with confidence that at least 50% of the time, it is the interviewer who is not equipped to efficiently or accurately assess a candidate for the position, which unfortunately translates into the candidates sometimes receiving poorly-determined feedback (if any). So what I'm saying is... can you help change the behaviour in the industry and try and get companies to actively solicit feedback on their hiring process. Thanks!
Hoku Ho
@jhm_uk We've thought about allowing the candidate to give feedback to the company, and only allowing the company to view that feedback if they give feedback back to the candidate. Something that your comment brings to mind is allowing that process to start in reverse order. So the company gives feedback to the candidate, and the candidate can only view that feedback if they give feedback back to the company. This is something we can definitely explore, b/c both sides would really benefit from feedback. Thanks for the comment and don't hesitate to let us know of any other thoughts or questions you have 🙂

I may be wrong, but the idea sounds better if this product was a B2B solution for job listing websites, not the end users. Can't see why would I need to send a link to interviewers instead of asking for feedback in a direct email? Sending a link feels a bit pretentious. Would love to hear from the makers on this, though :) Another thing, as others have already mentioned, some companies tend to be too busy to provide feedback to every candidate. Maybe, some pre-written options that employers can choose from for "what we liked" and "what you need to work on" would be a nice idea?
Hoku Ho
@kay_larina We've heard from some of our users that sending a link with a couple questions can be a little less awkward than asking those questions directly. The other benefit is that you can keep all your interviews and accompanying feedback in one place, making it easy to keep track of and access. All that being said, once we have enough data on response rates and such, we want to test out different features that really incentivize interviewers to give feedback. For instance, allowing the candidate to give feedback to the interviewer, which the interviewer can only view if they give feedback back to the candidate. Some pre-written options for the interviewer to choose from could definitely be valuable. We'll have to explore that. Could you expound further on the product as a B2B solution? Want to make sure I'm envisioning the same thing you are. Thanks for all the insight, really helpful!

@hokustalkshow great approach on gathering more data and experimenting! 👍 I was thinking that there are many different local job websites that might be interested in a service (plugin, maybe) that would push employers and applicants into providing feedback, because it creates a better experience for both sides. If you can offer them a solution that would cost less than implementing such feature from scratch, and let them incorporate it using their design guidelines, I'm guessing those folks might be interested. your idea with the enclosed feedback from candidate is awesome! thanks for the response!

This is a great idea! Interviewees rarely get feedback on how they performed and won't know where they went wrong or need improvement. The problem is I haven't seen/heard interviewers giving feedback on candidates. They either won't have the time or other reasons for not sharing feedback. There should be some way to motivate the employers to share feedback.
Hoku Ho
Thanks @rajagopalilango Yes, motivating employers to share feedback is a challenge. See this comment on some of the different ways we hope to incentivize them into giving more feedback: https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Steve Vu
Awesome Idea! GREAT Name (It is ALL in the name).
O Park
@steve_vu Thank you for the great name ;)
Heidi Helen Pilypas
What a great idea! Gonna check it out.
Hoku Ho
Thanks @heidi_helen , let us know how you like it 🙂
Igityan Hayarpy
Does it also helpful for university interviews?
Hoku Ho
@igityan_hayarpy Yes, it could certainly be used for university interviews 🎓

Idea is cute)
Serhii Myrko
Wow, this one may be very interesting.
O Park
@sergiy_myrko Thank you! feel free to try out and give us any feedback :)

This is a simple yet such a great idea! In an applicant perspective, this is what generally hiring processes lack-- a sort of FEEDBACK loop. How would you make sure that the recruiters/employers would take the time to go to the link and feedback though? Looking forward to this!
Hoku Ho
@pingrivero Yes, we agree that most hiring processes really lack a good feedback loop. As for getting recruiters/employers to actually give feedback, we've thought a lot about different ways to incentivize them to give feedback. See this comment for some of the ideas we have: https://www.producthunt.com/post... If anything comes to mind that we're missing though, would love to hear your thoughts 🙂
James
Love the idea, more employers need to take the time to provide constructive feedback to candidates, many don't bother at all!
Hoku Ho
Thanks @jamesdevonport Yes, the feedback from employers is extremely valuable, and candidates need more of it. See this comment for some of the ways we might be able to encourage employers to give feedback more frequently: https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Alicia
I like the idea! Does the job seeker have to put in all the information for the interview (interviewer name and contact info)? Do you plan on it connecting with other job seeking apps?
Hoku Ho
Thanks @alicia_edmonds 🙂 Currently just the interviewer's first name so that you can keep track of who you interviewed with, and so we can pre-populate a message template with the interviewer's first name when you're ready to send out the feedback link. We may allow input of other info as we learn more about how people are using the app. There can definitely be some valuable ways to connect with other job seeking apps in the future, but nothing in progress currently. Open to hearing thoughts and ideas on connections / integrations that might be beneficial to candidates or interviewers.
Raffi Muradyan
pretty good

Wish I had this at the beginning of my career, would have helped me so much. Seriously legit feedback loop product.
O Park
@ohjamesy Thank you buddy :)
Leandro Cunha
Amazing idea, I'm handle my interviews with spreadsheets currently. I install After Interview app but the first screen is loading infinitely
O Park
@leandrocunha I'm sorry to hear that. Is it still happening? That shouldn't be happening unless there was a problem with internet connection.
O Park
@leandrocunha thank you for the detail. That shouldn’t be happening as long as you are online. we will look into it more to see if there’s something we are missing.
Lewis Kang'ethe Ngugi
It's actually good. But it keeps crashing when I tap on a job from the companies tab.
