You? In Star Wars?

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is finally here, marking the final episode of the nine-part “Skywalker saga.”

To celebrate, Morphin, a CGI studio where you star in your favorite movies and GIFs, launched “Intruder in the First Order” to let you insert yourself into the world of Star Wars.

The experience is for die-hard Star Wars fans who want to see themselves holding a lightsaber like a Jedi, piloting an X-Wing or firing a blaster gun. All you have to do is take a selfie and you’re there.

Since we started working on this computer vision tech, we knew that someday, it would be possible to see your CGI self in a movie. And isn’t Star Wars the movie universe that got us all dreaming? Who never dreamt of using the Force?” - Morphin founder Loic Ledoux

In honor of the final movie installment, here’s some of our favorite Star Wars-related products from over the years.

A year ago, the team at SoFriendly launched Yelling Across Cubicles, a walkie-talkie app for macOS, during our Makers Festival. After the reaction from our community, the team decided to go all in on Yac. They went on to raise $400,000 from a tweet and then $1 million total from investors like Betaworks and Active Capital.

Yesterday, the Yac team came out with a new product: Brb.

“Yac was built for remote teams but we found we loved messaging our friends and loved ones over Yac too. With the nudge from PH and Snap, we built Brb using everything we learned building Yac.” - Maker Justin Mitchell
