Instagram is now expanding its shopping features to Instagram Stories, after already offering a way for users to shop looks through its feed. The Facebook-owned company announced today that it will now add stickers with a shopping bag icon to Stories.
With 300M using Instagram Stories everyday, people are increasingly finding new products from brands they love.
Now, Instagram hopes to capitalize on their users' brand engagement and drive more traffic than traditional ads can offer.

The new update will allow users to put little stickers on top of items from “select brands” in their Stories, which present a preview of the product a link to the brand’s shopping site when clicked on. Want that pair of shoes? Click the little icon. Want some glasses? They’re a couple clicks away.

The company started testing the feature back in 2016 with a limited set of 20 partners. Since then it’s been a hit, expanding broadly to regular brand posts in the feed.

[Now], the feature is first coming to brands like Adidas, Louis Vuitton, and Aritzia, and is expected to roll out to regular users over time.
Brb, we're going shopping 🤑
