Hi - I'm Lori Greiner, inventor, entrepreneur & Shark on ABC’s hit show Shark Tank. I've created over 500 products & hold 120 patents & have had my own show on QVC for the past 17 years called Clever & Unique Creations. I love being able to help other budding entrepreneurs make their dreams come true by investing in them on Shark Tank & also wrote a book called ‘Invent It, Sell It, Bank It!’ which is a step-by-step guide on how to turn an idea into a million dollar reality! I’m happy to be here with all of you today –ask me anything! FB: www.facebook.com/Lori.Greiner1 TW: www.twitter.com/LoriGreiner Insta: www.instagram.com/lorigreinershark Web: www.lorigreiner.com

Hey Lori! Whether it's QVC, your book, or Shark Tank, you really know how to SELL. What are some things you've learned about sales and marketing that you think most industry leaders don't know? What would you recommend up and coming sales and marketers do to stand out among all the noise? Thanks! Keep up the amazing writing, investing, and business! Sydney Liu https://commaful.com

@sydney_liu_sl Besides really knowing about what you're selling inside out, it's important that you focus on what your top 3 selling features & that you stand out above the rest. Try to find something really unique or different or better. The way you sell something, how you do it is critically important. Having extreme enthusiasm, passion, confidence & belief in what you're selling makes others have the same excitement, enthusiasm & belief in the product that you do. Have you ever watched someone sell something in a monotone flat boring way & you completely lost interest? This is what I'm talking about.

Thanks for joining us today! Have you ever had someone in your life that you consider a "mentor"? Who was it and what was their biggest impact on you? PS I think @scharf15 would be upset if I didn't make it known how big of a crush he has on you. He just graduated from UF and is starting his first full-time job.

How do you value quality of life now? - Money does buy almost everything, but not time. How much time do you have for yourself? - Closing question: How do you manage your time in 24hrs? Advice. Sincerely, @JoeHobot

Lori Greiner@lorigreiner · Inventor/Entrepreneur #SharkTank
@joehobot Being an entrepreneur & choosing that life you're automatically thrown into the position of needing to be working 24/7, because when you run a company you can't just walk away. I tell people if you choose this life, know that it's not a 9 to 5 & you can shut it off. Once you get used to that it becomes your way of life. I find what I do exciting, I love it! I love creating, selling & I like helping others. And I try to always have fun along the way. I try to surround myself with a great team of people that I enjoy and when you're your own boss, you can do that. That's part of why I love being an entrepreneur...the freedom it brings me! I always say "Entrepreneurs are willing to work 80 hours a week to avoid working 40 hours."

@lorigreiner @joehobot Great answer! It seems like once you really get the hang of the "craziness" and love it, that you find the "balance" so that you can multitask in life a bit more (even though it's hard). It's important to make sure you are as deliberate with your rest and rejuvenation as you are with your business.

@lorigreiner @joehobot Lori, I bought your book 9 months ago. I have checked every question to ensure I have a winner. I am now in the prototype stage for my travel garment which will be competing with the neck pillows. I would love to present my idea to you. what is the best way I can get in front of you?

1. What are the key things you look for in a successful start up? 2. What advice would you give a recent graduate that is unsure about what path to success to take in life? Thank you for giving up your time to answer these questions! <3
Lori Greiner
Lori Greiner@lorigreiner · Inventor/Entrepreneur #SharkTank
@aleksei_yim Don't stress about what path you're going to take because that will only make you anxious & worried about it. Think about the things you like, you enjoy & you are good at & see how you can possibly make that into your career. The key is to love what you do, if you love what you do, you'll be good at it!

Shark Tank, in a way, is the realisation of the true "American Dream" with a select few inventors/entrepreneurs having the chance to start the business of their dreams... How do you see the series playing a role with today's younger entrepreneurs who are not on the show?
Lori Greiner
Lori Greiner@lorigreiner · Inventor/Entrepreneur #SharkTank
@nhbschr I think the show is really impacting children, students & adults across the country & around the globe. I run into people all the time that tell me Shark Tank is their child's favorite show & it's their favorite show. They learn so much from it & it influences them to think about business, being an entrepreneur & even helps them in their day to day job.

Do you ever feel like you are investing in too many companies or do you enjoy the thrill of making new investments often?
Lori Greiner
Lori Greiner@lorigreiner · Inventor/Entrepreneur #SharkTank
@willfeldman3 I always enjoy investing in great new companies! I started my business, created 100s of products & helped others along the way too. So this was a natural extension of what I was already doing, so I don't get bored, I LOVE what I do!

Advisory Boards are a major component to a startup's success. How do you surround yourself with the appropriate individuals who will help your company succeed? How do you view being a part of others' advisory boards? Specifically what do you look for to determine if you can add value to their company?
Lori Greiner
Lori Greiner@lorigreiner · Inventor/Entrepreneur #SharkTank
@austin_teague It's difficult to answer this question, because it depends what area you're in. It's great if you can have a mentor, people that are knowledgeable & experienced in the field that you're in. But not always necessary. Study, learn, watch, talk, absorb to learn as much information as you can about your interest. It's nice to have an advisor or mentor, but not everybody gets that opportunity, so empower yourself!

@andrewgale Good question Andrew. Sometime we just work in the right markets to actually run into people as you are talking about.. Don't ever be afraid of those you need.. Never a stupid question and most of all promote your product all around the person you want to get up with.. Spam the world with your product but be sure You Use Promotion by attraction rule.. Without Attraction your promotion is dead as soon as it hits print

As many of us know, you started off as a guest shark in season 3 and are now on the show full-time... Do you now see being a shark as a major component of your business (and maybe even personal) life or more of a "side project"?
