Agency Partnership Lead
Full Time · New York City

Job description

We're looking for someone to help us define our approach towards digital agencies, including how we sell, what we sell, and the team we build. ## Overview We have a strong footing in the agency vertical and would like to bring on our first dedicated hire to help us determine our 2018 strategy towards the major holding companies (WPP, Publicis, etc) and their subsidiaries. Specifically, the person in the role will have the rest of 2017 to make a recommendation on two things: if we create a specialized department will we (1) be able to win more agency business and (2) expand agency accounts with increased effectiveness. We expect the recommendation will include a perspective on product and marketing requirements, referral agreements, and the potential for holding company-wide agreements. Once the recommendation is made, this person will help to create the team. The role will be a mix of sales and strategy. The sales component will either involve working with existing sales teams as a support layer to accelerate their deal making, or with a select grouping of agency accounts to test out tailored selling methods. The strategy component will focus on analyzing what's working in order to make the year-end recommendations. We’re looking for someone with a background working for software companies that have successfully sold to agencies. Ideally you led that work or were a key player. We expect a strong working knowledge of the industry and ideally a rolodex of contacts. As an early member of the team, you need to do well with little structure. We're looking for a rare mix of sales hustle mixed with vision and analytical thought. ## Here’s why it’s cool - You will define InVision's strategy towards one of our most important verticals - The role is high priority for our organization - You will interact with our Chief Sales Officer requently - You will have a lot of room to create your own strategies and test things out - Our product is amazing. When we show it to people they say things like “wow” - You will get to spend time with the leadership of the world’s best agencies - The people we sell to (usually designers) are fun to be around ## What you’ll do (2017 project): - Research existing InVision penetration within agency holding companies to determine where we should focus. Map organizations and prioritize high potential groups. Collaboratively create the sales strategy the team will execute on - Work with existing sales teams (or maybe run your own end-to-end sales, TBD) to close large deals - Meet with high-level decision makers and share your wisdom in a consultative, value-add, non-salesy manner - Meet with centralized agency teams to explore large deal opportunities - Compile results and generate a 2018 strategy for our team ## REQUIREMENTS You are… - Software + agency background: you've partnered with agencies before and understand how they work - A hustler: you're creative and know how to hustle your way into the room with people you want to meet, even if they're busy and/or senior - Persuasive: you have to build credibility that you have something meaningful to say that will be worthy of managers at large companies giving you their time - A people person: this role involves quickly building relationships with clients - Driven: we have specific, tangible targets that we need to reach quarter. We have a lot of fun, but we also work hard. We want someone on the team who is single-minded about reaching our targets and has a lot of hustle. - Adaptable: we are still figuring out the exact playbook for the role, so you’ll need to be comfortable adapting to different activities that will help us reach our goals - A great writer: a lot of our work is conducted over email, particularly in the early stages of working on an account. You’ll need to be a great, persuasive writer - Curious: you’ll need the ability to understand a potential customer’s context through effective questioning and listening - Entrepreneurial: as we are still figuring out our methodology, we’re looking for someone scrappy, creative, and entrepreneurial. We’re hoping you’ll contribute your own ideas - Interested in product: a large part of the role involves evangelizing the product and design processes to our potential customers. You should be comfortable learning new features. You should also be comfortable communicating those features in a compelling manner, at both a tactical and macro level ## Your background… - 4-10 years experience working in business development, agencies, sales, or partnerships ## Benefits: InVision offers an incredibly unique work environment. InVision

Software Engineer, Data Services
Full Time · New York City · Remote: OK · 100K - 130K USD

Job description

InVision is the world's leading product design platform, powering the future of digital product design through our deep understanding of the dynamics of collaboration. We provide two million people with the power to prototype, review, refine, manage and user test web and mobile products. InVision drives the product design process at leading Fortune 100 companies, including at Disney, IBM, Walmart, Apple, Verizon and General Motors. Backed by Accel, ICONIQ Capital, FirstMark Capital, Tiger Global and others. InVision is a distributed team with over 200 employees around the world. At InVision we are building the next generation data platform. You will tune our databases, build tooling to monitor those databases, build tooling to multiply your work and reduce tedious tasks, and work to provide a reliable data platform through best practices and collaboration with product development teams. You are the type of engineer who can ensure that our MySQL and MongoDB databases can be scaled and administered to provide a reliable data platform for product engineering teams. You know how important it is to be able to tune configuration, optimize queries, plan ahead for capacity needs, and do all the other important work necessary to ensure that systems continue to hum. One day you might be optimizing some queries to ensure we’re performing at scale. Another day you might realize that some of our test environments don’t match production, so you implement a tool that can diff two systems and alter them to match. Still another day you might find yourself pairing up to write some Go code because you realized you were doing the same manual tasks over and over again. All of these are examples of work done by engineers on our team in the last couple of weeks. If you love coming to work every day and making things better with other people, then you’ll love this job. You like working with data and building data systems that are reliable and fully automated. You know that the systems you build must be up all the time and thus you don’t mind going on call. However, you get frustrated every time you get paged because your goal is to design systems that ensure you never need to be paged in the first place. These are systems that can handle failures, heal themselves, and let you know in the morning what action they took. If this sounds like you, we would love to talk. The Data Services team at InVision is a team of great engineers who love solving tough problems and supporting each other while doing so. Please send us a résumé and a cover letter letting us know how you would make our team even better! BENEFITS InVision offers an incredibly unique work environment. The company employs more than 200 team members working remotely in 14 countries around the world. In the United States we have teams including hubs in New York, San Francisco, Austin, Portland, and Boston. Each InVision team member is given the freedom and tools to do their best work from wherever they choose. Among other benefits, we have a flexible vacation policy, unlimited Starbucks cards for each employee, and unlimited books related to your profession.

The Engineering Velocity team at InVision is on a mission to remove all friction from the development process. We do so by automating all the things from service creation through build, test, deploy, and monitoring. Our goal is to make it so fast and easy to do things the Right Way (™) that there is virtually no barrier to taking ideas all the way out to production with near-zero effort. It’s like perpetual motion for software development, except that it’s not hypothetical. You’ll love this job because you like to delight the people around you by building tools that make their lives easier. You get frustrated with manual processes; why not spend your day making sure they are eliminated one by one? You also love doing this in a supportive environment with engineers who really like working together to achieve amazing things. Want to know what kind of an impact you can have in this role? Let’s say you’re a developer and you want to deploy the latest version of your code across multiple environments. Let’s say these services, written in Go, are all running in AWS on a Kubernetes cluster and that you have lots of separate production environments that all need your latest code. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could jump into Slack and say: `deploy my-service to production` And it just works. In parallel. Super fast, reliable, and with no handholding. Does that sound like fun? Well, sorry. We already did that. But guess what, we have tons more innovative ideas like that one and we know you’d bring a lot of your ideas to the table as well. We know you care about removing friction everywhere you can and building really easy-to-use interfaces that are loved by developers. If this sounds like you, please send us a cover letter and a résumé telling us about all the cool things you’ve done and why this job description sounds like a great fit for you.
