Our mission at Product Hunt is to surface great products to the world and help makers find an audience. We want to help makers worldwide to reach their audience and become successful. Skills we look for: • Being able to build a large scale products with required attention and quality • Being able to hack together a small version that's "good enough for now" and ship it half-working asap • Being able to know when to do which of the two • You've worked on larger Ruby on Rails applications and have managed typical problems like memory or performance issues. • You've worked with React not because it's fancy but because it helped you scale large frontend code bases • You have DevOps troubleshoot experience (AWS, Heroku, Docker) • You have a product mindset and want to take ownership — all engineers at Product Hunt are product people too. Your responsibilities will include: • Identifying and defining new product opportunities • Driving your own roadmap, from conception to production • Collaborating closely with designers to ship great products • Leveraging research and usage data to iterate on these products • Troubleshoot DevOps problems, Browser performance issues, and many more things You should have: • A track record of launching great projects • Desire to ship and work autonomously • The ability to work with a distributed team • Strong verbal and written communication skills About distributed teams and this role: • We are a distributed team (US West-coast to Eastern European timezones) • This means you wouldn't be "more" remote than anybody else in the team • This role is intentionally meant for American timezones to balance the engineering team (2 in American time, 4 in European time atm) • American timezones along UTC-7 to UTC-2, include Canada, USA, Central America, South America • San Francisco or New York applicants are in special luck - thanks to AngelList (our parent company) we have offices in those cities you can join About the salary • The salary range posted here is quite large because this job announcement does not allow location dependent salaries • Internally we are using a cost of living calculator similar to Buffer ( - think base bands + cost of living adjustments • The goal is to get the right people and provide fair salaries, anything else wouldn't work long-term anyway If you do not bring all of the mentioned qualifications but still want to work with us: We do also have a junior (remote) position open:
