What's one of the first tech projects you've ever done in your life?

Nearly a decade ago at the age of 16 I sold my first website to a client - yesterday I remembered it and wanted to see if it’s still online… and to my surprise and against all expectations, it is! The exact same version of the website how it was 8 years ago. And it still works like a charm! It’s crazy that so much time passed since I’ve built this site, and I still feel that I’m just at the beginning of my journey, learning and doing new things every single day. Looking at this site triggers some melancholic feelings, but also makes me motivated to keep pushing and going forward. Back then, jQuery was still cool and React just a niche thing for nerds. I was just getting started with web development and wanted to earn some extra money, that’s why I did websites for small, local companies. The shadows, gradients and use of rounded corners on this website is so 2014, I love it 😂 You can find the site, well and alive, here: maler-messner.it Do you also have some old projects made by your past self? Show me!!

I implemented an automation solution for a large American automaker in my first real role as a technical consultant in 2012. Last year the same solution was shown to me by another company who was being asked to consider upgrading it as part of a modernization effort. It was cool to see that over almost a decade my solution had processed millions of transactions and was still purring like a charm.

@guillaumecleme Really cool story! I'm sure you gained a lot of experience in enterprise which is now very valuable for building your own products

@scriptify absolutely. I've spent most of my career working in B2B with enterprise customers. It comes with its own set of challenges and strategies but it certainly helped a lot on the technical front to understand what these companies are up against when implementing technical solutions.
