What do you think about a community approach to getting feedback and ideas for your product?

With Lightster we're thinking about ways to power founders and product teams with instant access to users based on autonomous communities. What do you think about it - useful/helpful?

Hi,

If you could build a community for getting feedback and ideas to help with the product, that would be huge! The struggle to even get some visibility coming from rock bottom is a real challenge.

But what kind of incentive could you offer for those people to spend their time and energy on providing feedback and ideas to some "unknown" maker?

I would personally give a lifetime of free access if I could get a certain amount of people to try the MVP version of my SaaS and show a real interest in it.

Maybe a system of goals to reach for each user that includes trying out the product and a number of shares on social media similar to crowdfunding? When the user has reached the goal, then he could get the prize (a lifetime deal for free in this case).

This would be the compensation for their time and effort in providing their fair opinion and interest in the product.

Maybe that's a stupid idea but wanted to share it. I actually had that kind of compensation a few months back to get my first users! ;D
