Google Slides all the way. You can build workflow automation directly with gslide. You could probably have much more advanced features just because you're leveraging gslide and actually helping users save a lot of time vs powerpoint.

Both presentation-making Softwares have pros and cons to weigh with either type of presentation design program.
Google Slides can easily embed animations and has superior template options.
As google slides is free and updated in real time.
