Is there a place to write an introduction about yourself?

I couldn't find a place on my profile to write an introduction/description about myself, and what I am doing. When I click on other people, I can't find any relevant information about them. Not sure if I've just missed to see it or it actually exists. Feels like a fundamental function.

I'd just introduce yourself in the forum with a new discussion. Also the moderators often do a "introduce yourself" chat every now and then. Best place to find out about people is through the profiles, but as you say some don't bother to fill them out. A lot of them use their Twitter handle to login so think about clicking on to find out more.

@maxwellcdavis Oh, there is a way to write about yourself in the profile? Please show me how to do that.
@bjorn_moren Not specifically but there are things you can do: 1) Include some social links and website links to your own profile on your profile information (I have mine as my own site and my own twitter) 2) You have real estate in your profile picture and background banner - these can both be use to advertise something. 3) Having a Ship page is another way to link to you or your product (if you've not already launched) - these also appear as "upcoming" on your own profile. 4) Your Headline can be used for whatever you want so tailor it to your needs!
Given that the community is so large, it's maybe a bit like having an introduction section for everyone on Facebook :D I'd say introductions in discussions works well, and if I want to find more info on people based on what they've got on their profile, I get their Twitter handle and search for them on LinkedIn.
