Do you keep track of your personal growth?

As we work on our projects we also grow, both in terms of our knowledge and skills, but also personally. I was interested if anyone here tracks that growth and what parameters do they track?

Hey Misha, really good question. I'd like to share what I do. With my wife we set yearly goals, we separate them into categories: - Finance - Social - Spiritual - Family - Profesional - Intellectual Each one reviews the goals weekly and we review them together every quarter to see how we are going and if anything has changed so far. We also give a point to every goal and then divide them for the category total so we know if we are moving forward or not in order to achieve the category goals. It is something like that. It works for us!

@daniel_leal for how long have you been doing this?
Tytti Sandström
@daniel_leal Do you have some data about your progress?
Daniel Leal
@tytti_sandstrom uhmmm I don't have data from the big picture (the 4 years) , but I do from each year separately.
Tytti Sandström
@daniel_leal thanks, I love data and graphs and this discussion inspires me to build them about personal growth :)

@daniel_leal Wow! I think this is an amazing approach. Out of curiosity, what prompted you to start doing it?

@price2spy this is an interesting topic. If there was (or is?) a tool that would help me visualize how my personal skills, knowledge etc. have grown, i'd be really interested!

For me, there are two parameters to track my personal growth: 1. How many new skills I've learned so far? Or How good I've gotten in my previously learned skills? 2. How much control I've achieved over my emotional, spiritual, and intellectual abilities?

@tytti_sandstrom To be honest, I don't really maintain a record using any tool or something. This is more of an abstract psychological thing for me.

@saqib301 Thanks, in my opinion it's good to have things in life, that are not date driven. For me exercise is something i don't maintain a full record of. I want it to be feeling-driven instead of data-driven :)
Misha Krunic
@saqib301 I think this is a very solid approach. If you don't mind me asking, do you have a specific plan as to how and when you work on these or is it more spontaneous process?

@tytti_sandstrom Yeah, couldn't agree more. As for the exercise part, I let the mirror be my judge. :D
