I'm a fan of EDM, classic rock, or live DJ sets while I work. Nothing get's me in the zone better than a EDC Las Vegas set from Marshmello, Flume, or Alison Wonderland 😎

Found this one out recently and I love it! https://open.spotify.com/playlis...

I spend a lot of time creating content and I can't create words while hearing words so I tend to listen to classical music when I'm doing that kind of stuff. Or even silence my ultimate fave for focus! Otherwise I'll listen to what the Spotify algo recommends usually hip hop, indie, pop and techno/electro.

@abadesi I agree with you. Music is so pleasing and soothing, that it easily takes away my attention and focus. I prefer to listen to soothing instrumentals when I want to relax.

@abadesi Agreed! When I'm writing, I can't listen to music with works. very distracting

My favorite genre for work is TripHop and my favorite artist is MothEquals: https://www.youtube.com/user/Mot... Other than that it's mostly electronic.

The lo-fi chillhop music helps me focus. I would highly recommend if you haven't heard of it before! https://open.spotify.com/playlis...

@henry_zhang3 I maintain a ridiculously massive lofi playlist if you're interested: https://open.spotify.com/playlis... I never really promote it, I just use it and share it with a few friends. But it's been a work in progress for a few years, adding to it every month. So far 44 hours of nonstop lofi hiphop

@henry_zhang3 Of course! Share it if you want as well :) it's my go-to playlist when I'm programming. I use more ambient-focused playlists when doing real debugging work though. I find that beats work best when being hyper productive, but for me, beats get distracting when I'm deep into debugging a difficult problem. For that, I generally put on some extremely minimal ambient spa-type music.

I listen to a lot of life sets too! Mostly house, disco, and generally things without lyrics - just good beats :)

I listen to calm.io or similar kinf of music in the first half of the morning that helps me to focus on work. Post lunch i shift to some (Indian) movie songs that helps me not fall sleep :D

Spotify has some playlists in the "genre" Focus. No words, just classical music, lo-fi and binaural beats. I strongly recommend you :)

99% electronic music. I really like listening to the live sets after each Tomorrow Land, UMF and akin. I'm more of a Tchami, Don Diablo or Paul Kalkbrenner type of guy though.

While working on something creative - rap, when need to be precise and concentrate lo-fi, for something technical and monotone - podcasts or interviews, when tired or unmotivated - rock.

Mostly electronic music no or limited vocals. Check out this playlist, I think you're going to love it: https://open.spotify.com/playlis... More of my favorite Spotify playlists (mostly electronic music, also jazz): http://max2c.com/more-spotify-pl...

Arvo Paart, Debussy, Gurdjieff & De Hartmannand, and when I'm feeling vivacious, Jonny Greenwood soundtracks.
