3 Tips for launching on a time crunch 🕰 from experience

Hey guys! 👋 I'm launching an AI Personalized Recommendation app on Friday, and I wanted to share the learnings from reflecting on 2 of my previous very-tightly-scheduled launches. While some teams prepare for months prior to their launches, we once achieved 🚀 #4 Product of the Day in just 2 weeks' time! Here's how we did it 🙋🏻‍♀️ 1️⃣ Normalize working from your phone Although you can't be sitting at your desk 24/7, you can definitely be on your phone 24/7 for a couple of weeks. (🚽 🛌 🍽 ) Getting connected with PH community is imperative for a successful launch, and PH has an app that you can use to constantly be engaged in comments & discussion boards. (PH doesn't have DM features so I used Twitter and Linkedin for outreach) Even though you're on a tight timeline, there is a certain amount of time that needs to be invested in community-building if you don't want your launch to go completely unnoticed. 2️⃣ Launch on the Weekend Working on the weekends is tough, but if you had less time to prepare - aim for a day with less competition. Getting ranked within the Top 3 Product of the Day requires an average of 314 upvotes on Saturdays, 336 upvotes on Sundays, which is far less than the 608 upvotes needed on the weekdays (polled from 2023/01/14 - 2023/02/03) 3️⃣ Aim for other accolades other than Product of the Day such as 'Best Rated' or 'Best in Category' ⭐️Best Rated Product of the Month⭐️ I've noticed not many teams focus on anything other than upvotes, but when I launched Movie Deep Search, I encouraged everyone to leave reviews and feedback. Thanks to the effort, we were left with over 600 reviews and Movie Deep Search has the title of Best Rated Product of February. 🙌🏻 ⭐️Best in Category⭐️ There are many niche categories on Product Hunt, and selecting the right niche category could earn you the Best Product of Category over time as the poll doesn't end in 24 hours. I've realized if I launched Movie Deep Search in the Movies category, it would be the 4th or 5th Best Product in the Movies category. I hope sharing my experience can help some new teams planning to launch here in a short time frame 🙏 Is there anything I'm missing? Feel free to ask questions, share more tips, and make comments! P.S. Follow me to be posted on the launch of my AI Personalized Recommendation app! Thanks.

Great tips! I have a few questions: 1. Did you guys have a "Building in progress" page as well, or just the "Coming Soon" page? 2. Besides the PH users who clicked the Notify button, what's the approx number of people you think it's required to properly boost-start the post? (Here I mean people like family, friends, co-workers, etc.)

@chris_sarca 1. We used a Coming Soon page to use it for off-PH marketing! We are not making one for this upcoming launch though.. 2. Can’t say for sure, but we had around 50 upvotes after the first hour of our launch. We stayed within the Top 3 Product of the day range for a good 10 hours

Definitely agree on working from your phone! The only issue is that some apps are just much worse on mobile than desktop

Congratulations on your upcoming launch! So impressive that you were able to achieve such a high ranking in just two weeks

Thanks for sharing 🙏 Just curious to know wheatear launching on a weekend had any negative effect on your launch goals.
LisaKim
@hosseinyazdi The negative effect was that there weren't as many active users on the platform on the weekend and we weren't able to actually distribute our product to users at a maximum capacity! We still reached a good amount of real users, so none of us really complained about this.
