    Tinder 4.0

    Tinder, now with #TinderMoments photos

Ryan Hoover78Founder, Product Hunt Β· Written
While I've been out of the dating market for a while, Tinder was my favorite. It (seems to) have the most people and therefore largest pool to find your sole mate. Since then, they've introduced a bunch of paid features, notably their new Tinder Gold which allows you to pay to see who likes you among other things. My biggest complaint in the past has been the time suck so this is a welcomed feature (although probably not for my wallet).

    Bumble

Dating, friend-finding, and career-building in one app

    Kate51Community @Tierion Β· Written
Bumble is by far my favorite dating app. It's one of the only apps out there that feels fun while still maintaining a sense of safety, composure, and gravitas. The fact that it was created by women fed up by the existing dating app offerings is evidentβ€” and they ended up making the better app because of it. Also, I think it's worth mentioning that their brand voice is awesome (very positive, supportive, and dedicated to solving issues and eliminating harassment should it arise).

This is probably the most popular in the UK right now

This is the classiest dating app on the market. Even works in smaller cities where newer apps haven't caught on. The part where women have to initiate the conversation breaks the ice and brings a fresh energy to dating. Tinder can feel gross and comments from users can be uncouth from the beginning. Bumble is completely different. I met my current partner on Bumble so I can vouch that it works!

    Feeld

Date open-minded couples and singles. Formerly 3nder

    dimitar inchevTeam Coworkies & StartupBerlin.co Β· Edited
There is a lot of controversy around dating apps. Dimo the founder of Feeld is probably the best designer I know and this app has by far the best user experience of them all. With focus on open-minded people this app goes beyond your average catalog of people.

    The League 2.0

You're smart, busy & ambitious. Date, intelligently

Marlon WayneFounder @ Impulse Β· Written
A lot of people will say it's elitist, but The League is actually a great way of finding serious, more professionally oriented people. It's throttled to 3 potential matches per day (almost definitely selected to not all three be matches), but it makes dating feel a lot less like a game, too. Plus there's the groups feature. Coming together over common ideas is cool, because then you can add friends from here, as well. It's the organic way to form a relationship. It's a closer analogy for how dating works in the real world.

The group feature is my favorite part. You can connect with people on a friendship level and not feel any discomfort or pressure in a group setting and the limited potential matches per day is a refreshing reminder to not just swipe for the next best picture. Definitely a great option for someone who isn't ready for swipe city of Tinder or Bumble or who might not have the time to schedule several dates per week with so many matches.

    Happn

Find people you've crossed paths with

Elisa VazquezSocial Media Manager, Elevate My Brand Β· Written
It's a great option if you are trying to meet people literally just down the street. It opens your dating pool to people you may not have met but may have seen at the gym/coffee shop/etc. Also a greta option if traveling and just looking for recommendations (I've used it for that a few times).

    Hinge

The relationship app. Rebuilt & redesigned for relationships

Seems this is picking up traction in the US and is spilling over to the UK. Theres a lot more detail in it, just not enough people for me to know if it's the best. But definitely worth a look-in as its quite different to other dating apps out there

  15. Most dating sites and apps block people out by their physical characteristics, instead of by their passions. Do you have an odd (but legal) hobby that none of your friends have an interest in? Like watching 1950's SciFi movies? Or that obscure indie band that has a gig in a dive bar that you can't find anyone to go with? Find a friend, or date that shares your passions and interests!
    CommentsShare
While most dating apps are based on physical appearances, the main reason why I love Avec is because the app goes above and beyond, allowing you to take dating to the next step! With this app you find potential connections based on your common interests, not selfies.
