What is the first app you check as soon as you wake up?

The first app I check is iPhone alarm app. Have to turn off those gazillion amounts of alarms I set.

    The New Headspace

Learn to meditate and live mindfully

Jonathan BentzCreator of Leads, Sales, and Traffic · Written
Well, to be fair, I turn off my alarm first and then go through my notifications... but then it's right into Headspace for at least 5 minutes, and on with my day.
    • Mandeep SinghA Maker & Startups Enthusiast

I only went in for a quick 5 minutes session and I found it very soothing, so much that I nearly slept in the middle of the day. The voice over is very strong and in some ways better than Simple Habit. It does also have a great selection of content and as you might have guessed is getting into my shortlist.

      More info here:

    • Evan McCoyProject Strategist @ Big Nerd Ranch

For those of you who want to become their best selves, Headspace is a fantastic intro to the world of meditation. Andy is a great guide and I've improved so much at work and home thanks to being more mindful throughout my day. Would highly recommend for people who want to live 'optimally'.

If you're the kind of person who needs more extrinsic motivation, this may not be for you as the 'hook' to continue daily meditation is more nuanced and self-actualized.

As a remote designer, this is a must have. I'm always contactable and available. Super easy way to also have quick calls and communicate with other team members on different teams.

I'm a part of a ton of Slack communities but I'm active in only a handful.

Slack works to its fullest only when it is implemented in a team and everyone's supposed to use it for communication. Slack could/should improve on making the communities on it better by adding relevant features.

It's a bad habit, but I instantly want to know the state of my cryptocurrency portfolio when starting the day. The fact that Delta presents is so beautifully helps though, even when the market is down.
    • Wow!

Congrats @nicolasvh and the team at Opus Labs - this has to be one of the top hunt's of the year IMHO. I'm heavy into crypto HODLing, trading and watching and have tried EVERY crypto tracker available for iOS. It's pretty simple; no trackers come close to Blockfolio, until now. Delta is the first app that has seriously challenged Blockfolio. Even if the team doesn't grow the feature set, it is hands-down better than Blockfolio, both in UI and functionality. Add that to the upcoming features that Nicolas mentions in the last paragraph of his intro and this app is OFF THE CHARTS!

Multiple portfolios, desktop companion, and auto API integrations??? YES PLEASE!

      Kudos to all of you!

    • @martyDirector, Tens

Haven't found anything even nearly as good as this on the market. Solid team and product, excited for things to come. Export to CSV and ability to sync data to the cloud would be welcome features.

We were looking for a tool to replace Asana, and after initially testing Todoist, became certain it could be the tool for us. But sharing projects is a PITA. There's no easy way to let your team have access to all newly created projects. Also, the projects structure isn't shared, so sharing a new subproject causes havoc in the teammate's projects structure, and the teammate needs to manually configure the projects structure according to it's intended layout.

Organize your life with pleasure. Add due date to tasks, tasks inside projects, subprojects and subtasks. Call your friends to join your project and assign tasks for them. Comment and add images on tasks. Have your tasks everywhere with nice apps. Love it.

I want not a fan at first, in fact, I am still on the fence. My company uses Microsoft. Im testing the waters. It's not that I am in love, but I don't hate Microsoft TO DO. If you use Outlook all day it may be worth kicking the tires and taking a test drive.

This will eventually replace Wunderlist, however a year in, the improvements are just not there for me to have hope. It's AI baked daily recommendations could be nice, but again it needs to allow for more types of task listing.

I have been using CryptoPort ( which support more exchanges. That app also shows profits in BTC / Fiat. Only small issue I have with that is that for showing profits, the initial investment is only in BTC or Fiat currency. No ETH support.

P.S: I am just a happy end user of the CryptoPort app. If this app evolves to be better, I will jump on this one surely.

Brilliant for managing all your project backlogs in a Kanban fashion. Including a list for the DIY tasks around the house.

As a Marketer I use this daily to manage workflow, sort ideas around future content and prioritize my activities. My team collaborate and report using handy integrations with Google and we use it as a Customer service and Sales script repository to store links to docs and how-to videos.

Trello has helped me organize my projects for a while now. Since I work as a software engineer. An example of my boards is sort of where I create tasks then I classify them according to their current position on the sprint. For example I have tasks in different cards such as Icebox, Backlog, Current Iteration and Done. I have set deadlines all ranging from 2 weeks to someday :(. Overall a great product!

A bio-alarm clock that analyzes your sleep pattern

My sleeping quality. I use the app Sleep Cycle to monitor my sleeping. It creates a diagram of curves to reflect your sleeping quality, including light sleep and deep sleep. Then it assesses the quality according to the graph, and show a final point (usually I get 52%). It also shows how much do different factors, like do you have dinner late , do you have tea or coffee today, do you exercise today, etc. influence your sleep.

It's like Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, and WeTransfer had a baby, with their best traits and some added bonuses. Basically, you get a free digital library that anyone you invite can access from anywhere with an internet connection. Upload is incredibly fast.

Videos you upload convert and you can watch them/play them in your library. You can preview all sorts of file types, filter on tags and categories (multi-faceted search), and make your portal more unique through custom colors, tag and category list, and your logo. Best part is new features are being added every day.

  20. The first app that I look at every morning is AppLock. This app helps me lock all my other apps, pictures and videos up. The reason why I look at it the first thing in the morning is that it has an intruder selfie feature which can take a picture when someone tries to unlock your phone with the wrong password. I need to make sure no one has ever touched my phone while I was asleep. If you are a cautious person like me, you need this app.
