I have been using Atom for more than a year. So far the best editor for coding. The only downside is the size and how much RAM it requires to run.

Try Gitpod, it provides you a ready-to-code dev environment with one click from Github. If you work on GitHub, I would definitely recommend it. And it's free for open-source

Among its siblings like Atom, VS Code, sublime is the fastest and most fluent. But because of the slow update cycle and being a paid software, the community is smaller, therefore extensions are less, but enough to cover everyday usage and most popular languages.
