Where is the best place to find high-quality mentors for founders?

Is there a platform that matches founders with mentors that have "been there, done that" and genuinely want to mentor other founders?

  1. 500 Startups have an extensive list of mentors you can search by name or area of expertise. You can then reach out to them on Twitter or elsewhere and try and have a first chat. Finding potential mentors – that fit the profile you described – is not that hard. In order to build a real, solid relationship with a mentor, you'll need to chat with them several times and convince them helping you is worth their time.
  2. Another program started by Richard Branson. By enrolling and receiving a "Start Up Loan" from Virgin, you get free access to qualified mentors for a year.
