Uber and Lyft are still not operating in Austin this year... which means ridesharing alternatives are a must know before SXSW. Any recommendations? cc @chadwhitaker
- Chad Whitaker made this productYep! It's true; it is going to be a very interesting SXSW without Uber and Lyft roaming the streets. Being an avid Austin ride share user, I've tested all of the alternatives and instantly saw an opportunity to highlight the most reliable services and at the same time, aggregate their prices inside a single app. The great thing about ATXrides is that it not only shows you the price of a ride and provides a way to get a free/discounted ride via promo codes, but it also shows you where Uber and Lyft are still available in Austin. Disclaimer: I built this app, but many Austinites and Austin visitors have found it to be a helpful resource.
- I saw a friend recommend Wingz earlier today. They only offer pre-scheduled trips, which can be useful for travel from the airport and parties that you know you're going to go to. Pro tip: Wingz and most other ride-sharing platforms have referral codes so keep a look out. 😀
