- This was my favorite one for "gamification" -- the goal is spend every penny, either on bills / debts or savings. You have to balance every column. They also don't encourage you to automatically pull in your transactions. Going through what you spent manually is an important part of the process. If you're looking for forced involvement and a goal to continuously have to achieve, YNAB is a great option.
I paid the annual subscription, read the book, watched the videos and tried to make it work. In the end it wasn't making my life easier. My main gripe was the lack of multi currency support. The fact that their import flow is a pain in the ass, led me to switch back to spreadsheets.
Loving it. Recommended it to dozens of people already. Helped us to get rid of a ton of debt. Check it out.
