A lot of times I fall out of love with social media because there isn't enough variety or novelty in my feed(s). What are the best tools for surfacing new people and topics to keep things fresh?
- Find highly relevant audience & powerful influencers on Twitter. You can search by preset queries like 'Entrepreneur', 'Product Hunt', etc. You have a number of filters that help you to further zero in on your target, limiting results by location for example. Their Analyzer tool is handy and shows you the hashtag cloud, tweets, follows, following, tweets per month, etc.
- Buzzsumo is a great tool for finding influencers based on pretty much any topic. The company I work for has a very specific niche, healthcare diversity leaders who are multilingual are not easy to find on social media lol. But Buzzsumo helped us find high-quality influencers with great content that we could share with our followers. It's got a ton of features! One other way to find interesting people to follow is by seeing who your favorite people are following. I do this all the time with Pinterest and Twitter. Most of the time the companies/interesting people that I like the most only follow a handful of people. So the list isn't too overwhelming.

While it's primarily a tool you'd use for your business, you can also use it for personal purposes, like finding new and interesting people to follow on social media. Social media monitoring allows tracking keywords online, and it's not just social media you can collect data from. Just use your topic of interest as the topic you want to monitor and see whatever comes up in relation to your keywords. On top of that, it will help you find social media influencers based on the influencer scores assigned to authors of social media mentions the tool collects for you. With that being said, you'll be able to evaluate who are the influential social media users in your niche, whether it's Instagram, Twitter, or other media.
