What's the best way to send massive, non-spam, emails?

Since you're already using Mailchimp, I'd stick with that. I don't consider emailing these people "spam", since they specifically gave you their email addresses. It just happened off-line. What I'd do is, add them to a new list in your mailchimp account. Have mailchimp send them the double opt-in email. Customize that email to remind them of you and how you got their email address. Then if they really want email from you, they'll confirm. And you're guaranteed to then have a great list of highly engaged subscribers. Campaign monitor is similar to MailChimp but has some additional features and pricing options. Sending unsolicited messages is frowned upon, but if these people are expecting a message from you, email them to opt-in to future communications. Those that don't opt-in, don't send to again. Emailing this way shouldn't affect your Sender Score.
