Anyone got any good recommendations for document repository software?

I'm looking for a good solution that I can use to upload communal documents for my employees so they can be found in one central repository. Thanks for the help.

We used Google Docs to create living documents that could be accessed/edited by team members. It's not a document repository but creating a single Google Account for team docs helped us store all organizational docs and sheets in one place.
