What's the best way to discover new podcasts?

Looking for a way to discover new podcasts based on the ones I already listen to and ways to find out what my friends are listening to.

    Breaker

    The social podcast app 🎧

    Kunal Bhatia50Co-founder & Design Lead @SlidesUp · Written
Breaker launched recently and had a huge buzz about it because you can use it to listen to podcasts, and "like and comment on your favorite episodes" / "follow friends and find out what's popular right now." Even @rrhoover replaced Overcast with Breaker as his primary podcast app.

Following up @kunalslab on this recommendation, Breaker's become my default podcast app in part because it incorporates social recommendations and community. My biggest critique right now is that it's fairly tech-centric because of its early user base.

Adding a social layer to listening and discovering podcasts is a nice idea, but Breaker doesn’t appear to offer any easy way to unlink social platforms or erase your profile/data of you change your mind. Given the incredibly vague privacy policy, it’s asking for a big leap of faith.

    • I am using this app in every commutes. It has some handy features as the 'jump silences' in podcast that can make you win up to 5 min per podcast

    Overcast 3.0

A powerful yet simple podcast player

Overcast does a good job of curating and recommending good podcasts to listen to. If you've connected your Overcast to Twitter, then it'll show episodes that have been recommended by people you follow.
