What is Twitter? Nobody really knows, but I know I use it all day long. I've made interesting relationships I otherwise wouldn't have, is one of my primary news sources (nuzzel) and am constantly learning from my network. If Twitter didn't exist and I had to use Facebook as a replacement I'd probably consider getting an old Nokia 3310. Saw one fall from *9 stories* and it survived!
