I've had really good luck with these for calls in noisy areas. I'm not sure why they work so well. But whenever I use them, people comment on how well they hear me (even if I'm walking on the street in SF). Bonus, they are cheap.

I've used this for your exact use case for years. I've even managed to take a call while riding a bike and the person on the other end could hardly tell unless it was exceptionally windy. It's really comfortable, especially if you have glasses because you have the option for in-ear only or wrap-around-ear. Call quality is great and it comes with a charging case as well. Also, it can be found much cheaper refurbished on various websites.
