Any good services for interviewing people to validate an idea?

I'm looking for any tools/services that may exist, where you can interview your ideal user base/target market.

I used Twitter recently to do this. Twitter isn't explicitly built for this purpose, but I found many people in my target market (tech conference attendees) during an event where they were engaging with me and my polls (SXSW). I followed up with anyone I could and tried to have 1-on-1 interactions to ask why. One person wrote a Medium article to answer my question. Others offered to do video chats and give feedback on my prototypes. Check out What I Learned About Your SXSW Experience if you want more details on how I set up this research sprint to validate some ideas I had.

If you need help recruiting participants for your research efforts, check out UserTest.io. You can use their screening tools to match with people in your target market. If you already have some people in mind, you can just send them the tests and watch the results come in. Love UserTest's vision and execution to make a comprehensive testing platform.
