A Mac app to block distracting websites

Craig Davison- Student
Focus works well. It blocks distracting webpages at certain times and replaces them with meaningful quotes.

If you often procrastinate by loading up Twitter, Facebook, Product Hunt (๐Ÿ˜‰), etc. when you're supposed to be working, you'll really like Focus. You can turn it on for an hour (or a custom time period), and it will block distracting sites to help you focus. I use this one. Does good enough job blocking access to apps and websites I don't want to spend time on when working. Also has a "hardcore mode" where you literally can't turn off work mode during certain times. It's awesome.

Avoid distracting websites

James Hunt- Entrepreneur. Coder. Marketer. Founder.
Block distracting websites is one of my main ways to be more productive and force myself to work. Self Control for Mac is free, and is an amazing bit of software. Been a daily staple for me for a few years.

Self Control not only blocks websites but lets you do so for a set amount of time (i.e. 25 mins for pomodoro)
Derek J. Sine- Managing Director, Vander Group.
Great for staying focused... Not fun when you find yourself 3 hours later and 15 tabs + 75 pages deep on Wikipedia/Quora... or REDDIT!
