To be totally honest, I don't think there's a TON of difference between Pomodoro timers (they're all timers all operating off of the same theory) but this one is my favorite of all that I've come across because it lives in my Mac menu bar and is so simple and pretty. Checks all my boxes— efficient, effective, convenient and designed well!

A Pomodoro radio for coders and makers 🍅 🎶

I made my own productivity tool to fit my work routine:

🎼 Music: 1 hour mixes

⏸️ Break: every hour

🗨️ Chat : with other makers during breaks

It's like making 55 minutes 🍅 Pomodoros, everyone at the same time, so I called it pomo.chat.

A simple menubar Pomodoro app

Mater is a very simple menubar Pomodoro app. It's written in Electron and there are binaries for Mac, Windows, and Linux.

I've used a bunch of Pomodoro apps in the past and never found found one that hit the sweet spot for simplicity and nice design. When I found myself wanting to learn Electron, I decided to scratch both itches at the same time!

The human brain wasn't built to go at full steam for hours on end. Studies have shown that performance suffers when you spend prolonged periods focusing on the same task. Brief mental breaks can help you stay focused, as well as give your mind the freedom to wander (which is necessary for creative and complex problem-solving).
MakeUseOf
If you often hit a productivity wall after a few hours of work, a Pomodoro timer could help you keep your focus. This selection of timers has an option for every platform.
