Danny and I sought out to simplify how documentation (especially technical docs) is created and shared. This is the first iteration. We look forward to feedback from you girls and guys! Example doc: https://read.doctant.com/doctant...

This is awesome. Right now our team uses an internal version of Slate for API documentation. Wish this was around when we were looking for documentation solutions. Excited to see where you go with this.
Travis Jones
@daniel_schwartz @travjones0 Wow! Thanks, Daniel. Let us know if you would like our help migrating docs over.

When I showed this documentation system to Fittr's developer, his eyes lit up, but the real value in the product is to me--with our previous wiki I could input some basic information--as long as I kept Googling how to do it! Doctant will enable me to quickly leave notes for development and design, and to keep on top of what's going on without constantly bugging the devs verbally. So I know they'll love it, haha.
Ed Shelley
Interesting product - do you guys support Markdown? I would love to port over some existing API documentation we have.
Travis Jones
@mr_ed Thanks for checking it out, Ed! We're currently working on a markdown import for the very near future. If you feel comfortable sending us html or markdown, we can take care of the migration for you. If not, hang tight. info [at] doctant [dot] com

This looks really nice, but I'm curious what you're bringing to the table that readme.io doesn't already?
Travis Jones
@radiofreejohn We actually started building Doctant before we knew Readme.io existed. Readme does allow people to build documentation, but the approach is very different. I recommend that you try Readme (free trial) and Doctant and note the differences.
John Clover
@travjones0 I beta tested Readme, but I'll check out Docant as well to be thorough!
Dean Perry
Looks useful. I just signed up but then was sent to the login page where I had to type the same details in. Will give it a try when I'm at my computer as mobile is showing an error
Travis Jones
@deanperry Thanks for the feedback, Dean! It's actually not an error that you're seeing on mobile. The editor is meant for desktop (we expect that most people will write technical docs from their desk), whereas the reader is completely responsive. Check out the reader in these example docs: https://read.doctant.com/doctant....

Love the UI and how easy this is to use. Great product!

This looks pretty good. My team is building out documentation, so it comes at the right time. One requirement for us, however, is the ability write collaboratively. Does Doctant support that?
Travis Jones
@j_hnshin Thanks for the comment, John! Collaboration will be a feature of doctant in the very near future. It's funny you bring that up because it was one of the main reasons that we started building this out. Hang tight, it's coming. :)
